old pixel art

My very first attempt at pixel art back in 2006. I was at Barnes & Noble looking through a computer art magazine that had a special feature article on pixel art. I can’t really remember the name off the magazine, but it was a UK magazine. I’d like to find it again.

ugh I broke my Varsity FP. I must’ve put the cap on at an angle cause the nib was bent to one side… D: I tried bending the nib and it sort of writes, but it feels rough now.
First time playing with the Sakura Koi Waterbrushes. I used General’s watercolor pencils.

Freebie art

Twas browsing the Gaia art forums – art freebies. I decided to try my hand at drawing art for someone that seemed sincere. Below is a freebie art for Midnight Star_Lightt. (I had second thoughts when drawing this because without the Angelic Sash… it might as well be something else. ^^; [edit: cool... a tip. slowly working my way towards being a T-Rex!!]
An art freebie I did for The Naughty Box.
Drawn with Kuru Toga 0.5mm pencil.

I really like HobbyLobby

I started assembling the 1/100 00 Gundam with light-up GN Drives yesterday. I was getting a bit frustrated because I was using one of the manicuring tools to cut the pieces from the runners. It seemed to ‘crush’ the ends every now and then so I went to Hobby Lobby to get a 4 1/2 sprue cutter. I also got a Faber Castell watercolor pencil and 3 Sakura Koi water brush(small, medium, and large). Thank goodness for sales and the beloved 40% coupon. ^^* I’ve grown interest in the waterbrush after seeing it once before. I’d like to try and learn how to use them with COPiC markers… You can find information about the waterbrush here and here.

I really do enjoy using the sprue cutter I got. It’s a baby blue color so it’s cute (imo). But yeah, it rarely crushes the sprue as long as I don’t cut too close for the first snip. I’ve also used it to trim the antenna of the Gundam’s helmet. As for the green stickers; I’m not fond of using them because Gundam stickers aren’t too appealing sometimes… Instead, I’ve colored the inside of the clear E parts with a Sharpie markker. I’ve done this method similarly for my Freedom Gundam’s rail guns. Originally, there was no stickers to place in it, so I just colored the inside of the clear parts with a Prang metallic blue marker.
The upper portion is mostly done.

Project: Cardboard Giratina

I tried to trace the lineart of the Pokemon Platinum Giratina promotional poster on tracing, then multiple pieces of paper. I’m not so sure if I’m going to cut out the other blank spaces, but I might paint the Giratina using acrylic paint.
